My reading of the logs is that it was the CoS ranking official on the spot that first said 'infection' and that the doctor simply agreed with this. Later he told the official that a post mortem would be required as a matter of routine. The official then realised that no such infection would be found (it never existed) and a second story would have to be devised - but they had no idea what as they didn't know the real cause of death. Panic! Once the immediate cause of death was established, a blood clot from the leg reaching the heart and causing a heart attack, a story emerged - the blood clot was caused by the car accident. I agree that it's probable she was dead or obviously beyond hope when she was loaded into the van at Ft Harrison. Even a hardened critic like myself has difficulty believing they would have not taken her to the nearest hospital if she were merely seriously ill. They had convinced themselves of course that she was having a psychotic episode for which the only cure was to follow Tech *exactly*. If anything went wrong it would be the fault of the baby sitters for not following Tech *exactly*. Concentrating on this blinded them to her physical condition. The missing three days of logs and/or the missing witnesses could tell us a lot, but like Nixon's [expletive deleted]s I don't suppose they'll ever turn up in court. --
