This list of non-party defendants must be hugely embarrassing to Scientology. Basically, Scientology is admitting through this filing that they believe these non-party defendants should be responsible for the death of Lisa McPherson, not the cult itself. Of course, the names Kartuzinski, Johnson and Houghton are well-known. But the other three non-party defendants are as follows:
* Joseph Price, psychiatric nurse at Morton Plant Hospital
* Kimberly Brennan, emergency room nurse at Morton Plant and
* Joseph R. MacDonald, the other driver in the auto accident that Lisa was in.
This filing shows how incredibly desperate Scientology is, in that they want to apportion blame to the nurse who thought Lisa should have been kept in the hospital and to the guy that Lisa ran into on the day of her accident.

They are arguing that Scientologists are so obviously insane and incompetent that releasing someone into their custody should expose a person to liability. While it's an interesting argument, it's not one that you would expect the crime cult to be making about itself.
