You can see before and after photos of the damaged "Remember Lisa McPherson" brick at www.lisamcpherson.org
Just to recap; I bought this brick as part of the Gas Light Alley Park project in Clearwater. This little alley was turned into a park for some strange reason, and the bricks with messages on them are the pavement for the park. We bought bricks for $45 apiece as the fundraising method. Mine said "Remember Lisa McPherson" and was originally rejected by the group organizing the alley construction, because it would cause "community disharmony." Eventually it was put in, right where a person's feet would be if sitting on one of the park benches.
So I called the city after learning the brick was defaced and said I wanted to replace it, and I'd pay for the brick. The city is going to send a blank brick to an engraver, and I'll pay for it. If anyone wants to contribute, it's gonna cost about $50 'cause all these brick companies aren't geared up for single brick orders. You can paypal to cultxpt@ev1.net. Any extra $ will go to maintaining www.lisamcpherson.org, or for the next time (God forbid) the brick gets defaced.
