Sorry, I didn't make it clear. $5.6 million is close if not exact to what the cult paid to settle the case. One of the many people who know should send me a correction if this is way off. Right below I mentioned a legal expenses figure of $50 million which is within ballpark range of your careful analysis leading to about $30 million.

I think you might want to add in about $15 million they spent on the criminal case if it was not already in the figures.

In any case, their biggest loss is all the people who didn't become scientologists because they heard about Lisa.

However:

Murder has no statute of limitations. If the cult got in a bind where they could not pay lawyers, PIs, thugs, hit men and whores I bet you McCabe would pull "new evidence" out of his hip pocket and file murder charges.

I would not go so far as to say I have inside information about this, but I know there are people in CW who are plenty pissed about what the cult did to their medical examiner.
