Scientology
While I prefer to stay out of the 'Minton/Stacy morals'
discussion (frankly, I think it's none of my business. I never
felt the need to worship either one of them (or any other
critic) as an icon, so I just can't see that it's the end of the
world - or ARS.) I find the COS practice of picketing homes and
stalking critics especially abominable. Look at them claiming
concern about the welfare of children, and then going out of
their way to do things which will inevitably upset not only the
critics beeing harassed, but even more so their family and
friends.
If you really think this is going to work, OSA, then wake up!
Have people actually *stopped* picketing because of the personal
home counter pickets? There are people around who have been the
subjects of this kind of harassment for many years, but who
still speak out against the COS. When I told my family about the
possible consequences of opposing the COS, they even started to
support me much stronger than before - 'If scientology would
make trouble for you just for speaking out, that only proves you
were right to protest them in the first place!' was the reaction.
In the real world there are people who don't let themselves be
'shuddered into silence'. They don't go away when you close your
eyes, either. You are going to have to live with it, COS.
