Scientology
This past Saturday, I had the occasion to spend about two and a
half hours on the phone with Bob Minton. I was amazed by the
man's graciousness.
Yes, I said I would publicly apologize if I were proven wrong
and this is it. I am actually convinced that Bob Minton is a
sincere and genuinely caring individual with nothing but the
most honorable motives. He has made a convert of me.
Soooo, as I sit here feasting on my crow, I must tell you it is
relatively painless. You see, I did want to be wrong about this
man.
I hope Bob will find it in his heart to forgive my mistaken
concept of him. Actually, after our talk, I think he not only
will but already has. He strikes me as that sort of human-being.
I wanted to post my apology immediately upon ending the
conversation with Bob but, I needed some time to figure out how
I arrived at my opinions in the first place.
Not to make excuses for myself but, I have come to the
conclusion that the fact that so many people fly to his defense
with such ferocity had created the impression that Bob was just
another charismatic leader of yet another cult. That is not his
fault. That is not their fault. Devotion and gratitude seem to
be the culprits here.
I get it now. What more needs to be said? You tell me and I
will say it.
I am sincerely sorry Bob. I will be at the picket on Dec. 5 if
you will have me and proud to be photographed with any and all
of you there (even though I really am not photogenic).
Blah, crow would not be so bad if it weren't for the feathers.
Being contrite is not really my style however, there comes a
time.......
