Scientology
At 3:45 this afternoon the Lisa McPherson Trust closed on the building at
33 N. Ft. Harrison Ave., despite a last minute desperation attempt by Ben
Shaw, Flag PR. The owner of the building was offered much more than the
building is worth to break the agreement with the Trust, plus
indemnification against any lawsuit caused by breaking the deal. The staff
and many of the Board of Directors are celebrating the Big Win at
Ottavio's this evening. No pickets have been sighted yet, nor any
Scientologists on the block.
I think this is a landmark in educating people about the dangers of
Scientology, and will be a lifeline to any members in trouble or who have
doubts for years to come. My admiration for the people who have relocated
to Clearwater grows as I come to understand what they have willingly put
themselves up to accomplish. To Stacy, David, Mark and Jesse and others as
the organization grows, I know the neighborhood will welcome you warmly,
as you show that somebody cares enough about the well-being of the members
of Scientology to tell them the truth.
