Greetings, stranger.
You write of "liberating minds." That is not the major issue here: it is liberating bodies. As many victims of Scientology have written over and over again, having some place to run to was their greatest worry. When one is "on staff," one has no money, no friends, and no family that they have not alienated---- no where to run. Being "on staff" at Scientology seems to me to be very, very much like a case of domestic violence: the mental, emotional, and intellectual torture and cruelty is patterened after that suffered by battered women (and their children).
The single greatest benefit the Lisa McPherson Trust could grant to society in general and Scientology's current victims in particular is to provide a place to run to, just as the (far too few) women's shelters in the country provide shelter to abused women and their children. I would even suggest to the LMT that they talk with directors of some women's shelters to see if they will provide suggestions on how to work with Scientology's current victims.
After a few days of decent food, sleep, and a feeling of safety, and the liberation of their minds will follow.
