Scientology
Mr. Scary Productions presents: The first annual benefit concert for
the Lisa McPherson Trust ( http://www.lisatrust.net ). It is scheduled
for Saturday, November 11, 2000 at a Clearwater, Florida venue to be
announced at a later date. This event will feature area and regional
musical acts, as well as appearances and speeches by former
Scientologists and cult experts, among others. Video presentations are
also planned, and a live webcast of the entire event is in the works.
This event is being organized by area musicians, and all proceeds will
be donated to the Lisa McPherson Trust.
For more info, if your band would like to appear at this event, or if
you would like to speak or make a presentation, email

The announcement of our planned event seemes to have enturbulated some
clams. They have made some rather suspicious claims about M and even
quoted out of context from a St. Petersburg Times letter to the editor of a
few years ago...
But it hasn't stopped there! One of them obedient clams named Robert Alan
C****, accompanied by another clam with a British accent, tried to find M
on Sunday at a couple of locations in Tampa, asking for him by name. You
will note that, unlike the Scientologists, we do not post personal
information about someone in a public forum.
This benefit event WILL happen, and M WILL go forward with the charges
against Dennis Heath Clark (the correct spelling of his name, according to
public records). Further harrassment of M on the part of Scientologists
will only strengthen his resolve to pursue this matter.
In regards to Maggie Council, she has said she would like to do this event,
but has a conflicting booking on the same date at an out-of-state venue.
She isn't 100% sure that the out-of-state gig is a go yet, so she may still
be able to make it. Or at the least, we could let her phone in her
appearance...
Any artists or speakers who would like to appear at this event, please
email mrscary@tampamail.com
Thanx to all.

> I see a problem with this concert. As soon as the names are announced
The harrassment approach has been anticipated, and no act is signing on
without being fully informed (if they are not already). A few acts that
have been asked have regrettably declined due to what can only be described
as fear or the potential of being targeted, which was also anticipated.
Others want to appear but have conflicting schedules. We will not be
forcing anyone to do this event...after all, they aren't getting paid, so
they better want to do it...
The other side of this is the exposure that this event is sure to attract.
Our advice to the cult is to ignore this event and let it go on peacefully,
and even though it would add to the promotional exposure to have them
picketing or calling bands or otherwise trying to thwart the event, we
honestly would like to see this just be a peaceful gathering of musicians
and people who wish to speak their minds, attended by those who might
appreciate such an event. What it might become is anyone's guess.
Mucho thanx to ARS Week in Review for posting the original announcement of
this event. For those coming into the thread late, here it is again: A
benefit concert for the Lisa McPherson Trust ( http://www.lisatrust.net )
is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2000 in Clearwater, Florida, at a
venue to be annouced at a later date.
To date, about a half-dozen bands have confirmed that they will be
performing at this event, and we are approaching others from the Tampa Bay
area, and are in touch with acts from outside of the area as well.
Tentatively, this event will also feature a video presentation by Mark
Bunker (if he has to be introduced to you, then you have not been reading
ARS enough) and an appearance by cult expert Jeff Jacobsen. A live
highspeed webcast is also planned, for those who cannot travel to Clearwater
but want to join us in this unique event.
Any person or band that would like to appear at this event, please email
MrScary@tampamail.com This is not restricted to Tampa Bay bands, anyone
who can make it to the area is encouraged to attend or appear.
There will be little to no limitation on the number of bands or speakers,
except for hours in the day. This can be an all-day and night event, or it
may run from late afternoon on...We will be sure to keep the group posted as
this event comes together. Thanx to all for the good words and the positive
response to this event! Hope to see y'all there!
Mr. Scary
P.S. : To the genius who "outed" M and his connection to Mr. Scary...
What exactly is supposed to be the problem here? So M let's Mr. Scary use
his computer to post to this newsgroup...
Like the COS never uses names or words other than Scientology to further its
agenda... Like "Narconon", "Citizens Commission on Human Rights," "Free
stress test," etc, etc...
Like Mandible is your real name...
