Scientology
barb-
The event was scheduled at a convenient date for the venue and the bands.
While we are announcing it here to inform those who follow ARS, the true
target "market" for this event is not the average critic, but those
Scientology calls "raw meat." It is aimed more at the area live music fan,
and what we are calling the "younger crowd" (no offense intended to anyone
here), especially into the evening as the music gets harder and more intense.
This is intended as an educational event for the community. I am sure that
those who cannot be in Clearwater in November AND December will follow the
benefit on the live webcast that is planned. You can even turn down the audio
if you don't like the music!
We will have speakers and cult experts, as well as former Scientologists
appearing, and video presentations between bands. It is looking like this
will become an all-day event, beginning in mid or early afternoon, as we are
lining up more and more acts on a daily basis. You would be amazed how many
bands are behind this event, we will likely be turning some of them away
(maybe include them in a second event for December...). The plan is to start
out lighter, with Reggae and acoustic music, maybe some blues and Southern
rock-type bands, then move into the chunkier stuff as the night wears on. A
techno-dance DJ is planned to finish off the evening, after the really heavy
stuff is done...
