One of the interesting dilemas I face here at the world headquarters of LMT Media is how do I edit the video I've just shot before going out to shoot some more. The unfortunate answer is quite often I can't. Before I can even look at what I just shot, something else has happened that makes it neccessary for me to pick up the camera again.
This was never more true than last July when we had the Scientologists in Clearwater in an uproar over Ursula Caberta's visit to town, coinciding with the failed vote for the Downtown Redevelopement. For some reason, the Scientologists blamed us for the townspeople's decision not to fund their new college campus.
On top of that the last injunction was lifted and the Lisa McPherson criminal case was dropped. All of these factors brought about the frenzy on the streets where the OT Committee started acting like...well...like Scientologists.
In the uproar, this gem got lost... until tonight.
Bob Minton spoke at the City Council Meeting and called for hearings into Scientology. Al Buttnor responded. Not personally, but by coordinating the troops inside the Council Chambers the same way he coordinated the attack on Ursula Caberta days later at the Tampa Airport.
