Shelley Beckman, Ph.D.:

Note that in each of these "studies" there is no control group, no peer review, and most interesting no background on "Dr." Beckman.
Paolo Bruschelli, M.D. - It says he graduated from the University of Perugia in Italy. It's difficult to track down his records, but I ran a search of all licensed physicians in Canada (they admit that their site is not perfect, but ...) and his name is not listed. He is probably not a practicing physician at all, for whatever reason, but continues to trade on his medical degree. My Italian is not as good as my French and I haven't been able to determine whether he is still licensed in Italy or if he ever was or if he lost his license ... I'll keep trying
William L. Marcu, Ph.D. is listed as a "Senior Science Advisor and Chief Toxicologist for the United States Environmental Protection Agency." The EPA disavowed any connection to his writings on Narconon and I just ran a "personnel" search on the EPA web site and could not locate a William Marcus Ph.D. I cannot confirm that he has departed, but could not locate either.
William Kent MeGregor, MSW
Mr. McGregor's recommendations to the State of New Mexico to place Narconon on the approved list of providers was denied and Mr. MdGregor departed the state. He claims to be "currently a surveyor for the national Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)." This is a paid position much like a census taker in that the Surveyor's job is to visit organizations and gather information to be used to determine whether CARF will offer the applicant accreditation. Given Mr. McGregor's antipathy towards non Scientology methodologies, his objectivity may be impaired. I have sent a detailed inquiry to CARF asking them to state their opinion on the advisability of having proponents of Narconon acting as Surveyors.
David E. Root, M.D. Dr. Root does not list where he received his medical degree nor does he state were he has practiced medicine. He does state that he is a Board Certified Physician in both Aerospace and Occupational Medicine. Aerospace medicine is in the province of Osteopathy. At any rate, I searched every certifying agency I could think of and I did find a David E. Root, M.D. listed in California:
http://cgi.docboard.org/cgi-shl/nhayer.exe
I cannot verify he's the one, but he's all I could find.
G Megan Shields, M.D. Long time cult of Scientology "in house doctor" Her clinic is even guarded by uniformed SO members. He listing with California does not indicate any disciplinary action although IIRC Dr. Shield's was at one time the subject of a disciplinary hearing, but I don't recall the result. She has no particular expertise to be rendering opinions about drug addiction or drug treatment programs.
