Last year the Tampa Org approached the Hillsborough County (Florida) school district in hopes of being allowed to deliver LRH propaganda in public classrooms. The district told them to get lost, explaining that anything based on the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard was clearly not secular in nature.
This was before the debut of Stop-Narconon.org. But the district has since been made aware of Stop-Narconon.org, which only helped to reinforce their decision to keep Hillsborough County schools free of Scientology quackery.
Here is the district's reply to the Church of Scientology of Tampa. A plaintext version is appended to this message.

No wonder Scientology hates the Internet.

School District of Hillsborough County "Excellence in Education"
December 12, 2003
Ms. Ana Tirabassi Church of Scientology of Tampa 3102 N. Habana Avenue Tampa, FL 33607
Dear Ms. Tirabassi
The District Review Committee met on December 4, 2003, and discussed your request to distribute information and make presentations in our schools regarding your drug awareness programs. This request was not approved. The committee members indicated that our school district has had a comprehensive drug prevention program in place for a number of years and that this would be a duplication of services. In addition, according to your literature, your proposed presentations are not secular because they are based on the teachings of L. Ron Hubbard. There was no hard research or evaluation component other than results of perception surveys. The proposal lacked details regarding the actual content of each lesson/presentation or outline of exactly what you intend to say or distribute.
Sincerely,
Gail A. Crosby Supervisor of Parent/Family & Community Involvement
