Hi all,
A friend of mine told me she had great results with a detoxification program called "The Purif" (?) I think... Is this available through your church? What is it exactly and how does it work?
I have taken a lot of prescription drugs and heard that this
program can get rid of "residual" drugs that can be stored
in the body.
Thank you.
Spirit and LarryBergen both recommend that you read (and accept at face value) the words found in Scientology's publication "CLEAR BODY, CLEAR MIND."
Never take a Scientology publication at face value. The Church of Scientology is a notorious propagandistic organization, and has been known to lie about many things. What you read in "Clear Body, Clear Mind" is nothing more than pseudo-scientific marketing hype and medical quakery.
Also, for a placebo, the Purification Rundown has some fairly high risks. Did you know that when pop star Michael Jackson collapsed and nearly died in NY a few years ago, his collapse was due to the Purification Rundown? Scientology will not tell you about that.
Did you know that some people have suffered liver damage, and gone blind from doing the purif when they had medical conditions that should have disqualified them? It's true.
Scientology won't tell you about that.
CBCM states: "The pollution of your body is blocking your clear thinking."
This is not a proven medical fact. It is an unsupported assertion.
CBCM says: "In his track of research into the mind and life, L.
Ron Hubbard discovered a major barrier between the individual and his potential for personal improvement and success in life --- drugs and toxic chemicals."
In fact, L. Ron Hubbard designed a lot of Scientology scriptures when he was high on drugs. His "discoveries" are never scientifically tested. And keep in mind, before he wrote Dianetics and then the Scientology "scripture," he was a writer of pulp science fiction stories. LRH understood nothing about drugs in the body. He did know how to write fiction and make things up out of thin air.
CBCM states: "L. Ron Hubbard was the first to discover that chemicals, drugs and toxins stay in your body long after you are exposed to them."
Hubbard didn't scientifically discover anything. He invented his discoveries by pronouncement, and he mistook his obedient followers unquestioning approval as scientific credibility.
For most toxins in the body, the body's normal systems eliminate and break down alcohol, drugs and poisons in our cells. There are a few things that the body has a hard time shedding, especially heavy metals. But sitting in a sauna and sweating is not going to remove those things, either.
CBCM states: "He also isolated precisely where in the body this toxic buildup occurs and exactly how to get rid of it."
Horsepucky! Hubbard understood nothing about the medical functioning of the body. He WAS good at making up grandiose sounding assertions about his abilities, however.
CBCM states: "No other program even comes close to addressing this deep toxic pollution that destroys your mental alertness and vitality."
Ergo, you'd better get out the checkbooks, right?!
If you go into the Purification Rundown, beware of the possiblility for liver damage. Do not do it if you are a diabetic. Consult a doctor. Do not credulously accept the marketing hype as the last word. Expect only the value you would expect from a placebo. Be aware that it will cost you a lot of money, and that their is always a Scientology registrar waiting around to sell you the next level, once you complete the Purification Rundown.
Keep all these things in mind, and you might not be damaged by the Purification Rundown.
