I have been reading a little about different personality disorders, and I am still not clear on Borderline Personality Disorder. I think I have it- I have been diagnosed with depression, but I am afraid to ask my doctor or therapist about this disorder, for fear of sounding like a hypochondriac. Could you please tell me more, in layman's terms, about BPD?

Borderline personality disorders are harder to diagnosis. It is like your depression and feelings and such are rather normal, except for the fact that they go on for a longer period of time, and in my case, progress to worse.
Some of the symptoms, are object splitting, which is where you think something/one is good all the time or bad all the time. Suicidal, low self esteem, self image, depression, self mutilation etc.
I have some info on it, but I am unable to get to it at the moment, so I hope that this helps you out, until I can get it.
Don't be afraid to ask you couns. they are there to help you....Tell them that you have been reading and that you were wondering if this is what you might have. They shouldn't think you are a hypo.
