Christianity is a severe mental disorder that is cripilling the USA and preventing it from reaching its full potentional. What can be done about this serious disorder? What do you do when presented with a patient who exhibits the Christianity disorder?

First of all, Christianity is not a mental disorder. It is a religious belief. Secondly, if you are going to call it a mental disoder, then all religions are mental disorders. Last of all, if it weren't for Christianity holding back everyone in check and making people feel guilty every once in a while, imagine what the world would really be like. We'd have a society that is even more amoral than it already is! Can you imagine a world without a set of beliefs by which to live? It sounds like you are an anarchist, and by all means, if we lived in a society of anarchists, I would even doubt calling it a society anymore -- it would be a cruel and savage world where nobody would be held accountable for their actions.

Also, I would like to add that no one can judge whether or not this religious belief if a delusion or not, the same goes for the theory of evolution; there is actually LESS evidence for evolution than there is for the validity of Christianity. I would also like to point out that other religions, such as the trendy Eastern religions, seem to be attracting a lot of attention lately, mostly due to people in their middle-age seeking a meaning in life. The odd thing is, they would rather follow a religion in which moral relativity allows them to not have to live by strict standards, therefore Christianity is viewed as "outdated" etc. According to Arthur Koestler, author of "The Lotus And The Robot," the practise of Zen, for instance, is not actually a bonafide religion in Asia -- it is a means for their uptight society (the "robots") to relax (investigate this on your own and you will realize how the West has been following an erroneous version of "Zen.") Also, the attraction of Westerners for Hinduism is again steeped in confusion. In the Hindhu world, for instance, a leper is left to die because that is seen as his "fate" and people would believe there is nothing anyone could do for that person because of Karma. But in the West, Hinduism has been idealized as an ultra-spiritual religion. As for the goals of Buddhism, they believe that the goal of life is to die and become "nothing."

Christianity is indeed a mental disorder as described by a leading phycologist. The DSM-IV shows Christianity to be schizophrenia. The evidence for evolution is so strong that the catholic church has accepted it. There is zero evidence to support the Christian mythology, so even a tiny piece of evidence for evolution is infinitly more. Christianity is a wish list. Christians are unmoved by science and rational thought.
