My girlfriend is very forgetful
she forgets to do things for me...once or twice she forgets that we had arranged to meet up until i remind her the last minute...
It used to hurt me before...but i am slowly getting round it.
How can I help her to not forget things.

Dear Anonymous,
Sometimes when there is so much going on, especially nowadays, we become so overwhelmed that it can be easy to forget certain things, even really important things. It is very gracious and patient of you to forgive your girlfriend for her forgetfulness.
I guess if you really understand that she does not forget these things on purpose to hurt you, then it will more easy to "get around it".
What can you do to help her not forget things? You could remind her earlier about your plans, instead of at the last minute. Remind her throughout the day if you must, especially if it's really important. This may seem like nagging, but if she really is that forgetful then I may be necessary for awhile.
Or she could put an elastic band around her wrist. When she sees it there, it will remind that she has something important going on. Even if she forgets what it means, she can always call you to find out.
Also, she can start playing some memory games to help improve her memory. You know, like a bunch of playing cards face down on the table. She flips them over, scans them, flips them back face down again, and tries to name them all based on her memory. If she practices enough, her brain will learn to be not as forgetful.
Sometimes when we don't use our brains in a certain way every once in a while, it starts to get lazy. It atrophies, much like a muscle does when it is not used. So, get her to use her memory "muscles" more. Then maybe, things will get better.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck.
