suga_sweet asked this question on 7/11/2000:
Hi, I'm 17 years old. I'm trying to determine whether I'm a virgin or not. When I was with my last boyfriend, we tried to have sex. He placed the head of his penis in my vagina, but that's it. He could not get past my hymen. It hurt too much. He tried to push it all the way in for awhile but I stopped him after I couldn't take the pain anymore. I didn't bleed but I was sore in the genetilia area for a few days afterward. I just wanted to know if I was still a virgin. One of my friends says I'm not, and another says I am. I don't know what to think, I'm so confused. I hope you can help me out because I'm dating another guy now and I don't know what to tell him.
Thanks, Virgin or not

Hello Virgin or not-
In this instance, there is no definitive answer of weather or not you are or are not a virgin. Since penetration did occur, you can make a case for you not being a virgin. However, since he did not break your hymen, you could also say you are a virgin.
The decision is up to you as to whether or not you are a virgin. If you feel as though you had sex, then consider yourself not to be a virgin. If you think you didn't have sex, then consider yourself still a virgin.
If the subject of sex comes up with your new boyfriend, I believe you should just tell him that you are sexually experienced, that you have been with other guys. If he asks you if you're a virgin or not, just tell him what your opinion is on your experince. If you decide you are not a virgin, don't tell him about your past experience with the guy.
Anymore ?'s, feel free to e-mail me at nmattei@optonline.net. Hope I helped.
