Dear Anonymous,
It is possible, that if you are still a virgin, the the thin piece of skin you refer to is your hymen. This membrane is situated near the opening of the vagina and would cause a little bleeding when ruptured or torn.
However, seeing as I'm not sure as to your virginity, you might want to consult your physician just to be sure that everything is alright. It is always good to be certain that all is well when it comes to your health.
Hope this helps.

does that mean that i "poped my cherry"?
SeekTrueLove gave this response on 7/10/2000:
Dear Anonymous,
It is possible, although your doctor would be able to give you a more definitive answer.
It used to be that most women would be able to maintain "their cherry" until their first time of intercourse. But with today's very active lifestyle and women doing lots of very physically active things, the hymen does not always hold up under all of the activity.
So, some women CAN lose their cherries even without sex. That is the possibility with you, but again your doctor would be able to clarify the situation with an actual physical examination.
Hope this helps.
