Is it possible for a man to love a woman and care nothing about his own mother? If he can't help her out when she needs it, will he be able to help me? And my second question is: Why do most black atheletes turn to white women instead of their own race? I'm not prejudice, but all women are not money hungry.

Without knowing the relationship between mother and son it is hard to say. I do know this... it is possible for someone not to care about their parents. I have seen it and understand it.. But they are loving and caring parents and partners. So it is hard to say without knowing all the circumstances.
As for black atheletes turning to white woman? Who knows what attracts one person to another. Why should it matter what color the person is? Too often we as people concern ourselves with the outter shell of a person when in fact it is whats inside that counts... I am sure you have heard the saying never judge a book by it's cover as you might miss some fine reading... Well apply that to all things in life... Never judge a person by the color of their skin, you may miss out on the best friend or soul mate you ever had...
