What exactly is sexual harassment? What rights does the employee have? What rights does the employer have? How do you determine who is telling the truth?

What a LARGE question... There is a technical definition for sexual harassment. Then you have to understand the different "standards" of sexual harassment that have been assigned by the government. Such as "hostile work environment". It puts a different twist on the harassment, but is still considered SH. EXample: hostile work environment would entail ...say a manager asks you out and you say no & he makes it clear to you that you will be demoted or fired if you refuse him. This places you in a unacceptable "hostile" work environment In another area of sexual harassment, it might only entail guys walking around talking about private parts on women or maybe dirty/sex type jokes. This can be considered harassment because it is "unwelcome" behaviors. Excuse me for using men against women here. It can also be the opposite, women offending men, as well as same-sex sexual harassment. What rights for employEE? Employee has the right to work in a safe, non-hostile environment. The employER is responsible for having procedures in place to prevent, as well as resolve any situations that may occur. ie written policy, training... running out of room. Ask me the determine the truth in a separate question & I'll answer it for you.
