It took me slightly over a year to locate the EEOC office and file a claim against an employer. (I was just not able to think about it for a while). Now I find out that if a complaint is over 300 days, EEOC won't even consider it. IS there any other recourse?, It took me slightly over a year to locate the EEOC office and file a claim against an employer. (I was just not able to think about it for a while). Dear Asantolla:
Don't be discouraged regarding your time framing lacking from EEOC. You should try to go to another agency and if the problems are still going on, UPDATE and have them to another charge. Also see if there is any additional charges/claims you can include to infer the problem is ongoing.
I had a boss harassing me to the point he interfered with my job and created a hostile environment. He tried to keep my increases down and no promotions etc
Remember these agencies probably won't sue for you, but by going to them, it shows the court you filed charges and these agencies give you the right to sue. I have been told forexample: EEOC will sue if there is many ladies with sexual harassment charges.
I would check out a few employment lawyers and see what they think. REMEMBER: anything new pops up, go the agency within the time frame. You are protecting your rights in the long run.
Good luck to you. I am not in federal court and am replacing a past lawyer with a new lawyer who wants to work with me financially than the lst one.
