I was hoping that you could give me some information on how long a man would go to jail for rape. All info you can give me will be VERY helpful!

This varies. Does the defendant have a criminal record? Could the defendant be facing a life sentence due to habitual felony offenses? What factors played into the rape charge? Did the factors increase the penalties? Is this the first felony sex crime that the defendant has been charged with? Was the victim a minor etc.. Was the victim a boyfriend/girlfriend?
It seems common that a defendant facing a felony sex crime has more than one count hanging over his/her head. This also plays into the sentence.
I have seen girlfriends take advantage of young boyfriends and get 1-2 years in prison with years suspended. I have seen boyfriends take advantage of younger girlfriends and get the same. (I have seen those boyfriends/girlfriends get married after prison.) I have seen DADS get 7 years and paroled after 3 years in prison. I have seen habituals get life in prison.
There is a big difference between a violent rape...(I should probably give details because "violent" is in the eye of the beholder)...and an 18 yr. old boy having sex with a 15 yr. old girlfriend. Both are a crime and the violent crime will serve more time.
Hope this answers your question. Best wishes.
