Hi folks. I'm an expert from the relationships page, and I need information on how to find Women's Shelters in various parts of USA, Canada, Britain, etc. Site addresses or phone no.s please. Would love it if anyone knew national registries, if they exist. The wider reaching, the better. Also, the sooner the better. Thanks. See you on our expert bulletin board once it gets up and running.

Can you please tell me if your site addresses countries beyond American borders, and if so, which links do this? If not, are you intending on expanding your site to do this? If yes, how wide?
Thank you

I am apologetic to say, but there is not particular information referring to countries beyond the United States at this time. Not in reference to women's shelters. Some International Sexual Abuse information resides through my site to the International Psychohistorical Association. I can try and find some information about shelters in other countries, if you would like. Actually, this is a bit interesting, as I have not really been queried into that area. It may take me a couple days to research, as I am teaching class all weekend. And yes, as I gather international information, it will be available through my site. Since I am also on 24 hour call with a shelter in this area, that would be good information to have, if available. Thank you for corresponding with me. I will work on this as soon as possible. And, what else can I do?? Michael

Since you are busy this weekend take your time in answering this missive. Are you willing to turn your site into a world-wide registry? We desperately need one, if there isn't one out there already. And even if there is cross-linking one to another is to everyone's benefit. Would you like me to send you URLs from other countries as I find them? If not, I will set up a site on my own.
Two comments:
Your website address does not indicate your content. I presume this is intentional, but is it useful to people in crisis?
Thank you for undertaking this task in the first place. Your ranking on this site indicates how serious you take the problem, and your speed in returning your response to me is much appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Well....I had to go and 'check you out' :-).
I see we have attended the same school and received much of the same certifications.
Your honest approach is refreshing.

Oh yes....I would much enjoy the sharing of other urls from other countries. And the domestic violence is just one page of that site....I am working on one this year to address only domestic violence and abuse. That is my first website...I keep it because I have quite a few people who know to find me there....and it is 'comfortable' for them, so I will probably have it up and running for a good long while yet. Oh...and as an 'afterthought' as reading other answers to your question. We run two shelters, each with 18 beds and in a 6 county area...yes, we are busy. In our situation, law enforcement nor anyone else knows of there whereabouts generally speaking. Only the clients and our staff and volunteers. Now, there are a VERY FEW well proven and trusted officers which know of their location as help in security matters. Quite frankly, a noticeable percentage of our clients ARE our clients due to law enforcement officers which are spouses or boyfriends. It is another one of those demographics with noteable violence and abuse tendencies. Frankly, our shelters are two of the most secure places you will ever 'not find'. Now, our offices in completely separate locations are open to the public. Michael

Jerry... The quickest and probably the most comprehensive I could come up with for Canada is this, www.jewishwomen.org/canada.htm
In fact, I think we will find a great deal of international information here. I have already sent them a personal inquiry. Michael

Thanks for the kind words. I haven't had time to check you out, as you put it, but I don't think I have to. You are blowing your own horn by giving me this website, but as I always say, IF YOU DON'T BLOW YOUR OWN HORN, WHO WILL? I haven't seen the whole website, folks, but a cursory looksee impressed me. I conditionally recommend this site, and as long as this answer is up you can bet I have found no reason to get rid of it. Why else would I rate it 5 star. Thank you, Michael
