I was married for 5 years-I finally got free of him in November of 1999. In the process he got so angry that he physically abused me and was arrested. This made him angrie and he then killed my dog. He has promised that if I ever called the police on him he would track me down, no matter where I was and he would make my life miserable. I am temporarily out of the country, but will be returning soon. Should I still be concerned about this man or will he leave me alone? He threatened to kill my dog in the past and then did. Thank you, Bonnie

Yes Bonnie, you should still be concerned. I would suggest that you do contact the police and at least let them be aware of the situation. Have you been able to find out anything about him lately, say, through mutual friends or contacts? To be honest with you, if he has killed your dog, he certainly has the aptitude to do you harm. I don't know what part of the country you are in or will be in, but you should consider strongly in going through a good self protection class. A good class will place much focus on awareness issues and things to look for, as well as protection techniques. Now, if he does contact you in any way in a harassing manner, then certainly you need to contact the police. In his particular emotional being, he could possibly find most any reason to stalk you. Whether you go to the police or not. Stalking has become a well noted crime and punishments are becoming more severe. Contact me if you would like to talk more about this. Michael
