A student in my child's class has threatened to kill another student and blow up the school. The school knows about it and says they are handling the situation.The student had been suspended but has returned to class.All the kids are afraid of the girl. My daughter comes home everyday crying and telling me she is afraid.How do we handle this?Should we pull her out of school?This student has picked on my daughter as well as others on a weekly basis.We appreciate any advice,thank you., A student in my child's class has threatened to kill another student and blow up the school. I would contact the school and determine if the other child is in counseling and what the requirements for her to remain in school are.
If the answer is not satisfactory, contact the school board and the Board of Education in writing and tell them that if this child isn't entered into counseling immediately that you will pull your child from the school and notify other parents and the local papers about the reasons why.
Your child should experience school as a positive thing that can help her. The school has a responsibility to help that become a reality. Children should not have to be afraid of other kids. In some places this is the norm, perhaps, but only because parents allow it to go unchecked. Parents make all the difference, and the power of one counts. If nothing else, your child will understand that you cared enough for her well-being to take action.
