I don't think it is a good idea to take your child out of school. We have the same tragic circumstances at my son's school and this is what we did.: After the boy was suspended and came back, the parents got together with our children, and, as painful as it was, had them each write a letter describing the threats the boy did BEFORE the suspension and AFTER he came back. The comparisons were unreal. The suspension and the so-called counseling he was receiving for what he threatened were not helping. As parents we demanded more help for the boy who threatened and for our children who were enduring his mannerisms. Finally, after much talk, the boy in question was put into AYA, an alternative school here in town where he got more one on one attention to himself, his schooling and AYA INSISTED his parents get more involved. It seems to be working well for all involved. Our children now go to school, still worried about school violence, but now knows the school and especially us parents will do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
