My daughter comes home everyday crying and telling me she is afraid. How do we handle this?Should we pull her out of school? This student has picked on my daughter as well as others on a weekly basis. We appreciate any advice, thank you., A student in my child's class has threatened to kill another student and blow up the school. I appreciate your concerns in this situation as it is one that should be taken very seriously. Although it is appropriate in letting the school know of these incidents I would not leave it at that as some schools will downplay these incidents. I would document all incidents and take them to the school board for further action.
Your daughters fears cannot be ignored either. I would see what action the school board will take before deciding whether to pull her out. Another option would be to go to your local police and inform them of the situation also. You might want to take your daughter to the school counselor so she can talk about her fears in going to school.
I have one child in junior high who deals with some sort of violence on a daily basis and my younger son is apprehensive about going there next year so I sympathize greatly with your situation. It causes extreme anxiety and worry. In situations like this we oftem must take matters into our own hands and make sure ALL necessary people are aware of what's going on.
I wish you the best and please let me know how this works out.
