In the last few years I have noticed that men have become abusive towards women. It is not only in one race but in all. What is the explanation of this behavior?

Labugana,
I'm not sure that it's because men are abusing their mates more. Child abuse reports have risen significantly within the past century, but that's because there are more laws on them. I know that in one state (I forget which), police are arresting people who call for domestic violence situations; it doesn't matter whether someone was hurt or not. It's just being taken more seriously. (I know this because I saw it on an episode of Cops:). Anyway, up until the 18-something's, abuse (specifically child abuse) hadn't even been reported. Thanks to an ASPCA worker who was looking for abused animals, child abuse laws came into existence. (It's said that a girl's parents were stabbing her--with a pair of scissors, I believe--because they thought she was a witch. The ASPCA agent argued in court that human beings are also animals, too.) BUT my point here is that abuse has always been happening. It's probably just being reported more often. Society also affects the way people think and what they do, and that has a profound effect upon men and their beliefs that women are inferior and subjected to their "rule". Of course, even in this age, there are still male chauvinistic pigs out there who need to realize that some women are much higher than they are. They just might deny it, but it's true. Take Hilary Clinton, for example. She's a strong, independent woman who now lives WITHOUT her husband and who is, most likely, one of THE most powerful women in the history of the U.S. But I don't think that men are abusing women any more than they were in the 80's because of a specific reason.
