What are the things you heard about Child abuse?
Brandie gave this response on 3/22/2000:
I know about child abuse first hand, as I was abused as a child myself. I was beat where I had welts and black and blue marks that lasted for days. I was hit with whatever they could get their hands on. I was hit for little things to don't require being spanked. I was also mentally abused. I was called stupid and ignorant on a daily basis. I was cussed at and called all kinds of filthy names. I was degraded, was told I wish you were never born, and told that I took my mom's childhood from her (she was young when she had me). I was told I couldn't do anything right, even though I was an honor student. If I got an A it should have been an A+. I couldn't win for nothing. I was also sexually abused by both parents. They both made me have sex with them. They would force me to do sex acts to them, and they had oral sex and intercourse with me. Child abuse comes in many forms, none of it is acceptable. No child deserves to live with abuse in any form. It takes a life time for an abused child to get over the abuse. An abused child can overcome what happened to them and lead healthy lives (I do), but they will never forget what was done to them. When my parents abused me physically, sexually, the welts& bruises & sex acts finally stopped, but the scars that were in my heart never went away. They molested more than my body, they molested my mind.
