I'm not exactly what you would call a feminist. I am a stay at home mother, these days anyway. I think that feminism as a whole has brought domestic violence out into the open; made it a topic of discussion rather than a taboo subject. Feminism encourages assertiveness, and that is a quality that one needs to escape from an abusive situation. In abusive relationships, the abuser strives to deny the victim their individuality. Feminism promotes female individuality. It also encourages women to speak out. Speaking out is the best tool women have to fight abuse. If it is kept secret, the abuser has control. I'm not sure if this is any help to you, but I tried. Good luck on your paper.
