I would like to know if there is anywhere to look for old newpaper articles from the 50's - present for my local area? I have relatives and friends who were in the news in that time frame and would like to read about them. Maybe I'm hoping for more than is possible, but there is so much info out there, I'm hoping there is such a site. Thank you, Brenda Slegona

I have -no- idea what the answer is. If there is a Journalism categpory here you may wish to ask in there.

It depends on which newspaper or magazine published the articles about your relatives and friends. Some have copies of nearly everything going back 100 years; others keep nearly nothing. If the articles had historic value, chances are good that they have been saved somewhere. If of little value, it seems highly unlikely to me that it would be saved for 50 years by the publisher.
