LadyCatW asked this question on 2/26/2000:
I have had discussions - both on and offline - in regards to a crisis of faith within Wicca.
In my experience, it very much relates to what you believed as you grew up. One who was raised a Christian, but follows another path in adulthood may tend to "fear hell" - whereas someone raised as an athiest or agnostic will more "fear delusion."
What are your experiences? And how do you deal with them?
Rev_Jim gave this response on 3/24/2000:
Now here is a fog that catholism and christianity has put before our eyes to make us question our beliefs.
If you ever really studied our traditions of the holidays you will see that these days [especially religious ones] fall into the pagan rituals and beliefs.
True "HELL" is not as the religions painted it for us. This word was used to describe bodies that were placed in shallow graves and were desecrated by wild animals.
There are many paths to what some call a supreme being or enlightenment. But all share common bonds. Do not feel guilty about the path you have chosen.
