We're told to ask permission from a tree or plant before, say, taking a branch from it for a tool or a spell. I understand that, but...how do you know if you've been *given* permission? Or if permission is denied?

I wish to sincerely apologize. I saw your response to my answer, and the answers of my fellow witches. I was being insensitive. I wash raised in the country. I played with rabbits, turtles, and frogs. The woods were my best friend. I played in the creek, climbed trees. I learned to from my childhood the trees, plants, and animals. You might say I developed natural connection with nature. I forget that not all people have this advantage. It was pop pus for me to say you would never be denied. I would naturally not approach a plant or tree that was unable to cooperate. I'm glad to see you got some good advice, and again I apologize.
Merry part. (:K

No apology necessary, but thanks for clarifying what you meant. Combined with what I got from a couple of others, it's helpful.
