I would like to add my voice of denunciation and dismay at Mr. Stephen Anderson's letter ("Wicca is a 'cancer,'" Aug. 17, page 6B). I have been Wiccan since the mid 1980s, and active in the Wiccan community since 1989. What he represents as "Wiccan" is a false, slanderous caricature of a happy, healthy, positive, vibrant, joyous religion. People who do not like the fact that Wicca exists will just have to adjust; we are here, and we are staying--- get used to it! Jack Roper (a singularly stupid, ignorant, mentally amd emotionally blighted dullard with the brain power of a rutabaga and the personality of a clothespin) speaking about Wicca "authoritatively" is about as valid as David Duke (of the Ku Klux Klowns) speaking "authoritatively" about African-Americans, Catholics, and immigration policy. http://holysmoke.org/wicca/wicca_defense.htm is a good place to learn something about Wicca; it also educates people about the evil caused by people such as mister Anderson and Roper when they spread such egregious crap. Wicca and Wiccans are no threat to anyone.
