May 9, 2000... Our first review for the film is in. So let's go to our buddy Eric Lurio, who thinks it's worthwhile--but maybe not for the reasons Travolta would want to hear:

"When watching the Comedy Central channel, you sometimes see skits by the Saturday Night group and The Kids in the Hall which are so bad that you think thay're being deliberately that way in order to be funny....

"Well, Battlefield Earth has that feel to it. John Travolta's laugh sounds like something like a parody on one of those shows. How Forest Whitaker will be able to show his face again after this one tanks is a mystery. The audience was in stitches. If you really like le cinema dreck you'll love this future razzie winner."
