COOL ASPEN REFERENCE ALERT: If you plan on heading out to see the new John Travolta flick "Battlefield Earth," be prepared for a strong Aspen reference.
The sci-fi movie is based on an L. Ron Hubbard novel. He's the guy who more or less invented Scientology, and Travolta is of course one of the religion's high-profile members.
The plot involves a group of in-the-future folks called Psychlos trying to get off the planet for what we'll assume are obvious reasons. Part of that involves getting some "rat-brained humans" to the depths of a gold mine in what was once Aspen, Colorado.
No word if they find remnants of a commuter train. Make of it what you will.
