If you believe evolution occured and occurs, or if you believe that evolutionary theory is correct, I must ask you: why in the world do you BELIEVE so instead of THINK so or KNOW so?
"Belief; believe; believes. Conjugates of the verb 'to blindly accept.'"In the common usage of the word, "believe" represents something that the speaker or writer is uncertain about, or supports without empirical evidence. Thus, using "believe" when discussing evolution and evolutionary theory is non sequitur. Evolution is not subject to belief.
The point is, evolution is an observed fact. Evolutionary theory, which defines and explains that fact, has predictive power in that it has yielded predictions that were later demonstrated to be correct: conclusive evidence that evolutionary theory is valid. No "belief" is required.
