i have heard it was bad luck to change a name on a boat. i was told you have to re christian the boat if you chang the name, is this true and how do you do this. we changed the name on the boat that we just bought. named it the previous name of our old boat and pit a II next to it

AS FAR AS I KNOW THERE IS NO BAD LUCK IN RENAMING A BOAT. I BELIVE THAT THE LUCK OF THE BOAT IS DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE SKIPPER AND IT'S CREW. IF THE BOAT IS WELL MAINTAINED AND IT'S OWNER PLANS FOR THE SAFE ORERATION OF THE BOAT IT WILL REWARD THE OWNER WITH YEARS OF SAFE AND ENJOYABLE PLEASURE. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR BOAT RE-CRISTINED I WOULD CONTACT YOUR LOCAC PRIEST AND LET HIM KNOW OF YOUR INTENTIONS. HE WILL KNOW THE PROCEDURES AND BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU OUT.
SAFE BOATING!!!
