I'm looking for information on a 1979 Mercruiser 470....ie specs, maintenance info etc. Any help would be appreciated. I haven't had any luck searching the web.

the 470' is mercruiser's own engine.your best bet is to contact them and get a manual for that engine. if i'm right,the same engine now carries the 488 badge.
