I was wondering if there is a publication that has the used values of boats? I know you can find tons of information for cars, but I'm finding it very difficult to obtain info. for boats. I am considering buying a fish/ski boat but due to the rapid depreciation, don't want to buy a new one and I don't know what a used boat is worth, other than what a dealer has it priced at. How do I know if I'm getting a fair deal? Can you help?

Yes, you can find the boats value, the same as a cars value. Go to YOUR bank, and ask them to look up the price for you in the boat 'blue book'. You have to know the year, length, power, trailer ,what shapes it's in, and the overall appearance. If it all real dull and looks bad, it ewas kept outside. check for the hull integrity, and if it has a trailer, is it rusty??.make absoluetly sure, the motor runs. Ifd they have to launch it, thats fine. dont even think about buying something , if the person wont show you how it rides/performs, etc. I hope i helped you Sincerely Capt John
