What is the legal definition of stalking and does it apply only to strangers unknown to the victim?
Dariana gave this response on 5/9/2000:
A person commits the offense of stalking if the person willfully on more than one occassion follows or is in the prescence of another without legal purpose and with the intent to cause death or bodily injury or with the intent to cause emotional distress by placing that person in reasonable fear of death or bodily injury.
Note: This is not restricted to strangers of the victim. See an offline attorney or your court clerk for specific info regarding stipulations in your state/venue.
