rhart asked this question on 4/22/2000:
Is there a limit of time that a person can be jailed in a state (in this case, N.Y.)where he has not broken any laws, while awaiting extradition by another state (this case being Fl.) where he has a warrant?
Paul157 gave this response on 4/23/2000:
If I understand this correctly...someone was arrested on a warrant and has waived extradition to the state holding the warrant.
If this is the case the state holding the warrant has 10 days to pick him/her up.
Hope this helps!
