Hello again! I came to you before, your answer was perfect. I have another question for you to answer for me please. It's my last week of class and i need to know first, What are 3 fundamental parts of the controlled substances act? And second, What types of physiological reactions are caused by stimulants?, depressants?, and hallucinogens?? Thank you!

I do not have a copy of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetic Act (Act 64 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Legislature), so I would have to refer you to your local library, assuming you are from Pennsylvania. Otherwise, your state's act should still be available in your local lbrary, just ask the librarian, or look in the State Government section.
The next part of your question is a bit easier for me to answer. Stimulants do exactly that: they stimulate the Central Nervous System. Physiological reactions include a rapid pulse; constricted pupils ("pinpoint," "two pissholes in the snow" are some descriptors); rapid, shallow breathing; often times there is intense perspiration, cold, clammy, pale skin; Depressants cause a depression of the Central Nervous System. Slow shallow breathing; slow pulse rate; dilated ("blown") pupils; sometimes the skin is as with stimulants, but may be red from extreme profusion (an over-abundance of blood in the tissue). Hallucinogens produce a variety of reactions. If the person is conscious, they are often paranoid, and usually scared s&*tless! This is the "seeing pink elephants," feeling worms in the skin, tearing burning flesh from the body sensations. The pulse is absolutely racing (often close to a 200 pulse rate), and as such the blood pressure drops severely because the heart has not time to refill between strokes. They sometimes have an extreme adrenaline injection into the system which results in super-human strength. Each of these types of drugs has their own unique symptoms, but they also share some. The things I describe here are some of the more general signs and symptoms of the respective drugs. I hope that it helps out.
