psugrowler asked this question on 2/28/2000:
Why are so many pro athletes committing heinous violent crime today?
bjo328 gave this response on 4/4/2000:
Professional sports is a violent physical activity that keeps the athlete on a feral edge of existence not only during competition in the arena but on a 24 hour basis to cope with training demands. The athlete trains to respond quickly and decisively to any percieved weakness of performance of his/her opponent. Since the athlete is either training or performing he/she is always "on", therefor his/her response to situational resolution will almost always be as brutal as when he/she is in their arena.
