I saw on your profile that you went to school in Missouri--this is nothing to do with forensic evidence, but are you familiar with the pending legislation in Missouri to make it a federal law that searches for outstanding warrants are done before an inmate is released from jail? A 6 year old boy was dragged to death by a guy who stole his mothers blazer the very day he was released from jail--no check for outstanding warrants was done--there was one on him. I am a first year paralegal student and I am trying desperatly to gather information about this case for a report--Any information and suggestions about where to look would be appreciated--thanks

Tamra Jean. . . I don't have time to accurately and efficiently respond to your request this morning; however, I will do so this evening. I can point you to some information and perhaps give you the name and e-mail of the reporter who covered the story, in addition to some case law and additional web sites. Thank you for the question; and by all means, feel free to ask additional questions as you think of them. Karen Russo
