Why are so many pro athletes committing heinous violent crime today?

The age old saying that "You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" makes alot of sense. You take kids from a violent upbringing, who have had no guidance, give them a talent to squander and loads of cash to throw into the wind, and then compound that with the "You can't touch ME" attitude that has been flaunted in everyone's face since OJ, (and to a greater extent CLINTON), and therin lies the recipe for wanton violence. OJ was a bit of an exception, since his mother did try and give him some guidance, but many others are products of their childhood environments. One exception in this may be Marty McSorely, the hockey player who whacked the opponent with his stick. There is a game where violence is necessary, and often overlooked, but compklicated by issuing an essential weapon (stick) to use on each other. I am more of a hockey fan than any other sport, and used to be a fan of McSorely, but that was pretty stupid on his part, and he probably deserves a good shot, so to speak.
I think there should be (and I say this at great risk, because I am not a big advocate of counselors) a COUNSELOR on each professional team to help athletes adjust to the new wealth and public image they are now representing. Kids see this, and like they say, "Be Like Mike," or the new hero du jour; they idolize some of these people, even the bad ones.
