Since religion seems to be more of an overt factor in politics as well as other aspects of our lives than before, I would welcome any and all views, including the reasoning that supports those views, in the question, "If Jesus was to vote in the next election would he be a Democrat or a Republican?".

Since you asked for opinions, here is mine. I think Jesus would shun both parties and, if he voted at all, he'd vote as an independent. Jesus' entire life was about breaking out of molds and breaking down stereotypes. He was a radical teacher, one who chose to live outside of the customs of the times as seen in his association with those of "less reputable status". He would vote for whomever he thought would do the best job, regardless of party affiliation, race, creed, sexual orientation, etc.

Just as you suggest, "Jesus would shun both parties...", is a real problem for many of us in today's real world. Choosing a man to lead us into the new millenium with the goal of restoring the government to the people, and not the monied special interests, causes many of us to shun both parties.
Where do we find such a man?
Thank you for your response.

I don't think we CAN find such a man in today's political climate. I think the real question is how can we MAKE such a man (or woman)? And we can do that by changing the election laws. Abolishing the two party system. Abolishing PACS at all. The ONLY funding for campaigns would be from the government and would be given equally to all candidates. No one could use any extra money and all costs would be strictly audited. That is the only way to do it to get rid of the speical interest groups that do all the electing nowadays.
