estriker asked this question on 5/17/2000:
I have two female friends ages 14 and 15, who are seeing a pyscologist and were NOT prescribed to an anti-depressant. I am not sure what kind of anti-depressant they are taking, but they take over 8 at a time to give them a high. I would like to know what the side effects are and how it could affect them at this amount. I am very worried about them. Could a type of mix with other drugs like alcohol, pot, or an extreme amount of Robotussin be fatal?

Hi Estriker: The effects I had when I was taking anti-depressents were: dizziness, drowsiness, sperts of high energy, mood swings, light headness. Taking eitht at a time can be very dangerous and cause death if used with other substances, driving, or even walking across the street in trafic. These pills should be very carefully monitored and only taken as perscribed. Many people in my generation were very addicted to these types of pills. Not cool at all. I was addicted for 15 years and have been clean now for 25 years. Pleasse tell your friends to stop now! and tell the doctor who is supplying them with these meds that they are abusing the pills before it's too late. The hell being addicted to this stuff is not what I would wish on anyone. It hurts Large! The Meds will destroy your life!!!!! Love and Light, Springeagle
