I have two female friends ages 14 and 15, who are seeing a pyscologist and were NOT prescribed to an anti-depressant. I am not sure what kind of anti-depressant they are taking, but they take over 8 at a time to give them a high. I would like to know what the side effects are and how it could affect them at this amount. I am very worried about them. Could a type of mix with other drugs like alcohol, pot, or an extreme amount of Robotussin be fatal?

They're definitely taking a risk by taking that many at a time, and an even bigger risk if they're taking other drugs with it, whether it be alcohol, or energy pills, whatever. Everybody reacts differently to medicines, and medicines have different effects. For example, ny friend would take 5 or 6 prozacs at a time and not feel different. She took 5 ridalins at a time and didn't feel anything. Another friend of mine was bulimic and taking energy pills which were like diet pills and she took 5 of them one morning as well as her regular dose of antidepressant that morning, she had a very strange reaction at school. Her face and neck, back, were all contorting, she had no control of her muscles, They just moved and twisted, she had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance and they told her she had some kind of Parkinson episode, which is brain related. She eventually was okay after they shot her up with stuff. Some antidepressants, if taken 5 times the prescripted dosage can kill you most definitely, I think elexir is one of them. Your friends could be feeling high, but also be on the verge of death. Tell them to be careful, give tham the facts that you can obtain from any mental health clinic or your doctor.
Good luck, siobhan
